Screenshot shows some of the Site Maintenance Power App we developed as prototype to prove off functionality (otherwise would normally develop in Microsoft WinForms with C# or Access with VBA).

Power Apps proved to have some issues to resolve and mindset changes, but definitely up to the job. The online Community proved invaluable and direct support from Microsoft was also excellent. We used a SQL Server backend to allow full database facilities and integration together with Power BI which provided management information such as sites with incomplete data, drillable summaries of mechanical and electrical properties cross-filtered by type, location etc.

Power Apps can work with many data sources but database integration is crucial for enterprise level solutions. Power Automate can further fire triggers on Stored Procedures against such databases for pretty much any workflow scenario.

The client’s own particular requirements were then gathered, assessed and the solution agreed for implementation on a pilot 50 users, rolled out to 250 at successful provision.
